Freedom Weekend Aloft
managers are boasting that this year’s event brought record crowds to Heritage Park for the 3-day event. It’s no doubt that record high gas prices had an effect on people’s decisions about whether or not to travel, but looking at these pictures, it’s pretty obvious which choice many people made here around Simpsonville.

Here are some Freedom Weekend Aloft concert photos. While Huey Lewis, Montgomery Gentry, and Natasha Bedingfield were playing on the amphitheater stage throughout the weekend, we chose to stay and listen to The BackBeat over by the baseball fields. They are from the Chapel Hill area, and played mostly Beatles tunes. I would highly recommend BackBeat for that specific genre, because they obviously knew their set very well.
