It’s 70’s Partytime With Anderson’s Groovefest
‘Partners For A Healthy Community’,
a non-profit organization located in Anderson, SC, gets a lot of help from the 70’s Groovefest Party they put on each year.
To help out with their cause, left-over hippies from the 70’s, wanna-be disco dancers, and those just nostalgic for simpler times come out to the annual Groovefest dance floor.
You remember the music, right? To refresh your memory, here’s the #1 Single for each year from the 70’s:
- 1970 - “Bridge Over Troubled Water” - Simon And Garfunkel
- 1971 - “Joy To The World” - Three Dog Night
- 1972 - “American Pie” - Don McLean
- 1973 - “Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree” - Dawn featuring Tony Orlando
- 1974 - “The Way We Were” - Barbara Streisand
- 1975 - “Love Will Keep Us Together” - Captain & Tennille
- 1976 - “Disco Lady” - Johnnie Taylor
- 1977 - “You Light Up My Life” - Debby Boone
- 1978 - “Night Fever” - Bee Gees
- 1979 - “My Sharona” - The Knack
Anderson Heart is the lead sponsor for this year’s Anderson Groovefest, and at last count, there were 38 sponsors in all, so that gives you an idea of the turnout they expect this year. See you there!
