Local Baseball Hero’s Museum Opens Today
Shoeless Joe Jackson,
that baseball hero who made headlines back in 1919 with a little side game of his own - think Pete Rose - is getting a museum commemorating his other great achievement from baseball’s past.
At 10 o’clock this morning, there will be a grand opening for the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum across from the Fluor baseball field, downtown Greenville, fitting since he was from here.
The fact that he still has the 3rd highest life time batting average of all time says a lot, and there weren’t even any steroids back then!
