There was a lot more going on at this year’s Peach Festival in Gaffney, SC than in years past. When I went to the peach festival last time, there were no tents set up, and only half as many hot-rods as this time (which I saved for another post). Plus, there was a much bigger turn out this time around and plenty of activities for the kids.

The old saying may be “Georgia peach”, but those in the know know that behind California, South Carolina is the 2nd largest exporter of peaches! We celebrate that everyday with a huge peach-painted water tower alongside Highway 85 outside Gaffney, and then once a year, we have our annual SC Peach Festival. This year’s event is next Saturday, June 21st - the longest day of the year, and first day of summer.
