Text Messaging In SC Soars Almost 500%
We gave a hint about South Carolina’s incessant appetite for text messaging when we asked back in May, “Do You DWT? SC Tops This List Too” (referring to driving while texting), and that may be one explanation for the 500% increase in text messaging throughout SC that we’re experiencing now.
Greenville is currently the #1 city in the state for text messaging, with numbers going from 19 million to 119 million from April ‘06 - April ‘08.

“The Big City Wireless Use study allows our customers in South Carolina to get a true idea of how often they use their cell phones and wireless devices to do much more than simply place a phone call,” said Jerry Fountain, Verizon Wireless Carolinas/Tennessee region president.
